Getting Killed in Sarovet's Cave

Since I have bought Quest Gold, I've just started on HOL1, BUT I am getting killed in just one attack by 2 feral bats inside Sarovet's Cave which I think is the first quest. I have got the letter and supplies to give the commander and was exploring the Fisher Island when I came across Baba Manya in one of the houses so decided to complete this quest before heading thru the teleporter in one of the other houses in this village.
Should I be at a higher Lvl to be able to combat the monsters on HOL1?
It would actually be very helpful if someone shares the data of which lvl one should be before starting on these expansions as I had issues when I started on Fire and Ice too (Kept getting killed and had to go back to Quest and re fight with some of the monsters to Lvl up, then head back to Fire N Ice)
