Oyo the Shaman: Help or Kill?

I'm at Oyo the Shaman in the blood dungeon, and am unsure as to which path would be more beneficial. Does anybody know?

If you kill him, all you get is a scroll to teleport back to Matras once. If you kill him you get some items.
In the future, in order to get the most out of the game, I recommend that you simply try and explore before deciding on your own. You will get more out of the game.
