I have a Problem with the quest mentioned above!
Instead of giving the inkeeper 150 gold i said he can have the boy.
Now the Quest is still active but i cant talk to to the boy on the backside of the inn ( door locked).
When i talk to his mother i just can tell her that ill look for her boy (she dont tell me that rubor is in jail). I tried to go into the jail without having the quest but i cant open the door to rubors cell(even if i use strong unluck). Please help me, it makes me crazy if i cant complete a quest . Thanks.

So your problem is that you selected the "wrong" answer but the quest didn't fail. That's a bug in the game as far as I can see, we'll fix that in the future - thanks for the report! (Of course if you choose that the innkeeper can have the boy you can't set the boy free so you can't step to the next chapter - the jail chapter - in this quest.)

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I only got the quest on my phone a few days ago.

Stuck on this quest, everyhime I talk to the grandson at the back of the inn, he doesn't want to come with me, just says he wants to be a sailor and to leave him alone....

Any ideas? Is my persuasion too low? its currently at 27.

Strange, I have completed all the required NPC discussions yet still the grandson says it’s ‘a sailors life for him’ and refuses to leave with me. I spoke with the captain, the innkeeper but still the problem persists. I’d have returned to each NPC and they refused to discuss the issue further.

No one else reported any problems with the quest for a long time. I can take a look at your character when I have the time, if you send me a save file (to redshift@redshift.hu).

Same problem as mentioned from A Black Sheep.
I talked to both, the Captain and the Inn Keeper, also payed the gold.
The grandson refuses to follow me.
I already tried to talk again to both NPCs.
The Inn Keeper just tells me that i already got the boy and that i should leave and the Captain won't talk to me about that topic any more.

If you send us a save file I can take look.

Well, i continued to play the Quest after i made this post and you know what? The bug miraculously fixed itself.

Don't know what caused the bug, nor how it disappeared.
Unfortunately i've overwritten the only save file in which the error occured.

If this is any help for you and you still want to investigate what caused the bug, i could still send you my save file.

If it works, there is nothing for me to check.

It's not working for me. Keep going back and kids said he wants to be a sailor. Spoke to captain and innkeeper

It seems that it's easy to forget a step in this quest.

In any case, as I've said previously I can take a look at the save if you send me one.

How do I send you a save file?
