WHATS NEXT?
CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE THE QUEST 2?
IT WOULD BE REALLY COOL, LIKE INSTEAD OF KEEP MAKING EXSPANSTIONS YOU COULD MAKE A QUEST 2.
IF YOU MAKE A QUEST 2 PLEASE ADD 3D STYLE GRAPHICS, BIGGER MAP AND WHEN EXPANSTIONS GET DOWNLOADS ON, IT ADDS TO THE MAP

A completely new game where expansions are incorporated into the main map would be nice. However, I disagree w/ the idea of 3D graphics. This game is not about graphics. It is about the story & the adventures of the side quests. I believe all of the graphics were HAND DRAWN... Don't ruin it w/ computer generated 3D graphics. If I had a suggestion for graphics, it would maybe be for little things. Like being able to tell boy children from girl children before you open dialog (as it is they almost all look the same). But please no 3D.

No, there will be no full 3D, sorry. It will be hand drawn but in a much bigger resolution and better quality than The Quest had. Because graphics are also important, but we don't want to lose our usual hand drawn style. : )

Bonesreturns: so yes, there will be The Quest 2 (at least something similar), with much bigger world, don't worry. : ) The "expansions are incorporated into the main map" idea sounds good, we'll think about that!

Why would anybody ask for IN APP PURCHASES, you are asking to be ripped off. : )

Of course, it is nice if you want to give the developer a few bucks now and then. : ) I do that with Pocket Frogs. : )

The only good idea in the original post was that expansions add on to the map but even that could be bad.

TOO MUCH LAG, There would too many quests and main storylines, it would probably make game glitch a lot.

I don't see where 3d is a bad thing. We're making our new game (Zarista Games' new game) in 3d with the Unity editor and the testers so far, who have played the Quest and our Zarista Games' expansions, feel very comfortable in the 3d world--it's not that different from 2d. : )

I don't know why anyone would offhand knock 3d -- it's different from developer to developer.

Our 3d game I think you'll find very comfortable. And it features some handmade 2d graphics from Sylon. : )

Wow! Zarista and redshift are both making new games, this is gonna be good.

Sylon was my teacher. It's a long time since I was so excited to see him appear in a forum and answer a post of mine. It took him awhile because his English then was perhaps a little slower. : ) That was about five or six years ago. But I was so excited to see him there. : ) Hoping he'd respond to my post offering some help with English in the Quest.

I don't think he knows how excited I was to see him answer my post. I offered some help with quests and he said OK and that's how it started. : )

His graphics in our new game are just beautiful. Remember in 3d games you can also use 2d art. So when you're knocking on a door in our game and talking to an npc or entering a shop or otherwise, you often will see his wonderful graphics. I don't want to detract from Redshift's new game news here so that's all I have to say. I'm very thankful for his artistic talents and that he taught me quite a lot when I was just a little game maker, with very little experience. : )

I assume I had some talents of some kind but he brought them out and made me a game maker. : ) It was a good synergy and it continues to be a good game-making relationship.

So if you play our new game, which I hope will be done soon, you'll see him there in spirit as well as in his art, because he taught me so much. : )

So what's the ETA on this game. I know in 2014, but anything more specific yet?

Cat, that was almost 10 years ago. : ) I mean when we met on a forum for Legacy - then on a forum for The Quest. In the good old PDA days...
As I can see nobody wrote here that 3D is a bad thing, I just said that 2D is Redshift's usual style and our new games are still 2D ones. The new RPG (call it TQ2 or whatever else) will have more 3D elements than TQ but it's still not full 3D. (Because I personally love 2D more for this type of role playing games.) It will be some kind of a 2D/3D hybrid but we'll try to make the best looking hybrid you can find out there. : )
You can expect this RPG in the last quarter of 2014, sorry. (First we'll release our new fantasy card game.) It will be a HUGE game.

Well from what you've told us, the wait will be so totally worth it! And I also agree that expansions added to the main map would be boss. Also, maybe for magic resistance, it wouldn't be a percent, but more like ac, so it could theoretically go to infinity. I'm pretty sure that would help with attack magic being useless in high level expansions.

That actually sounds like a really good idea, about the new magic resistance

While on the topic, I think stealth should be able to play a role in actual combat as well as persuade (bribe bandits instead of fight, etc). It would really add depth to the game.

And about adding expansions to the main map- that could be good or bad, as it might limit other companies (read Zarista) in their ability to produce add ons. Besides, for expansions like Escape From Asteroids, that wouldn't really work.

i registered in this forums just to ask this question... Will the quest 2 be available for android? And for the time being... is there any way to play the quest gold on android? I see its only been available for itouch
