How to switch back to dual wield ?

When I started the game I was wielding two weapons. Then I took a shield. Since then I've not been able to switch back to dual weapons. What am I missing?

You need a short sword they look like daggers or knives they are the only weapon youcan have in your left hand (shield hand)
You have 20 save slots use them all. Save after every quest, save before going into a dungeon, save, save save!!

Ah. Okay. Thanks. I thought that I could use any light weapon.
