i just accidentally payed the prison guard 1000 gold to let me out of my cell. I tried climbing the ladder but a message pops up telling me i cant. wtf do I do?

Look around the prison...depending on which one you are in you'll have different escape routes, tap walls, pipes and cracks to find your way out.
