Speed of dialogue message dismissal

I'm not sure if this is just me, but I've often had to replay certain parts of the game (provided I had suitable saves) in order to be readier to read dialogue messages suddenly ensuing (more or less) random tapping. In other words, while searching environments for information or secrets, there are times that I've actually found secrets only to inadvertently dismiss the messages about them. Also other messages, such as "you've served your jail time", are like this. Is there a way to prevent a message from instantaneously disappearing by (accidentally) tapping on it? I'm guessing one way would be to have a "dismiss" button or confirmation, or similar.
