This game is flat - all maps are 2D.

However, it does have mountains and chasms. Buildings have varying heigts. Dungeons have ceilings at varying levels. There are ledges etc.

Why it's impossible to climb up a mountain? Or introduce bridges over chasms? Or more convoluted dungeons?

Regards!

This is how it was designed. One level per map just like the games it was inspired by (like Eye of the Beholder).

Multiple levels (well, there are two, plus deep chasms) exists only for aesthetic reasons.
