I can't figure how to put the idols on the pedistools. I assume once I place them on theIr specified pedistool, it will open a door, so I can return from this island.

I also understand that I get my own apartment once completing the governor mission. From what I have read, there are storage shelves for my quest weapons. How do I place items on the shelves?

Both these are similar actions and all I can get my character to do is drop the items.... Please explain how to put stuff on shelves & pedistools

There are two arrows in the corner of the screen when you open up a barrel or shelf. One picks things up into your inventory. The other will open your inventory and then place whatever you want on the shelf.
