So I have always gone from Vastares to Phryn by running from the barbarians and avoiding their attacks then when close enough, using town portal to get to the village. Then i get a weapon that is very good from the blacksmith shop and fight the barbarians and archers.
Is this how i should be doing it? Or am i doing it incorrectly?

This way definitely works if you wanna go early. But I’ve always found that if I do everything in Vastares, then I’m strong enough to deal w the barbarians and archers on the way to Phryn.

Very seldom do I take the way of death with the eyes and witches.
