Undead city screwup?

Howdy! I am on the Undead city quest, and have found the girl and taken her amulet, yada yada yada. But the problem now is that I can't seem to fulfill the mayors request for food and water, sold (for nothing) all of the food and water in the chest as well as the food found at the two shelves near Marysuma's house and sold all of it, still the inn keeper keeps asking! Did I screw this up and should have gotten the request first from the inn keeper BEFORE giving him the food? Is there a certain order for this quest that I screwed up? Thanks

You need to have these in your inventory when you tap the door:
Contaminated Water: 1
Stale bread: 1
Moldy bread: 1
Fetid cheese: 1
Stinky cheese: 1
Maggoty meat: 1

If you have more than 1 each of those in your inventory, drop the excess.

I don't remember if the Spell Create Food creates rotten food, but you could try it. Otherwise, you need to go shopping.

I don't think you can mess this up. : )
