Fame and the "Saint" Achievement on Steam

Is maximum positive fame still attainable on a single character even after a couple of fame decreases, or am I required to never lose fame throughout my entire playthrough? Thanks.

There are many opportunities for both losing and gaining fame. It'll depend on where you are in the game but if you are not near the end I'd hazard that losing a bit will not be a problem.
