Your favourite RPG ever

If you were to pick just one fantastic RPG, what would it be?

I'd like to say The Quest, and it is a cut above no matter what, but there's one game that changed my view of videogames recently.

It's the wacky Japanese game Mother 3, released in 2006 for Game Boy Advance. It even surpassed my beloved Arvale in terms of story and characters of characters  while being peculiarly similar.
The story is not so simple anybody can get it, but I think anybody can feel the cosiness of simple life and then the historical re-shaping of the world. Ok, no spoilers, this game is definitely an inspiration for life in general and even more so if you're a creator. By not being perfect, it doesn't seem like a lofty standard, while the charm is unforgettable. Best games for me are those I don't forget easily. It can be tragic at times, but it's just a game) And it's very linear, there's not much you can miss except some dialogue.

I might have to say the OG Baldur’s Gate. Perfect complexity of game mechanics, generally good voice acting, good story, and the progression system is particularly well done. Many places and quests to undertake that are challenging, and the promise of better, magical items is a big drive for quest completion.

My first completion of the game took about 60 hours, and I never got bored with the combat. I was left wanting more, and ended up buying the expansion and BGII.

It’s on both steam and the App Store, so anyone on here playing the quest has access to it, and I highly recommend playing this classic. The learning curve can be a little steep, but it’s definitely worth it.

Although I don't play many games (despite my love for RPGs), there's one for mobile that deserves to be called my favorite. It's called Moonshades, a free to play dungeon-crawler RPG, which grew on me way too quickly. The game itself resembles The Quest in some aspects (grid-based, FPS), but here you have two characters whom you can equip with different gear and make them acquire different abilities and spells. The mechanics are well-balanced, the visuals look nice (monsters have an awesome animation), but probably the best part is The Magical Forge, with which it's possible to enchant and fortify gear in various ways and fuse loot items to create other useful objects.

The game is not entirely ready yet, but it's fully playable.
I'd recommend everyone giving it a shot, it's not frequent that a game gets a perfect rating (5.0) on the AppStore :D

Special thanks to Eyex for recommending this game to me! :)
If you have been really too busy,
And you feel your head being dizzy,
It's recommended to have a rest,
I have a good offer-play the Quest! : )

Wow thanks for the recommendation, I love it already. Can’t believe I’ve never heard of it before, especially how good it is to be free.

I really like Minecraft too but i don't consider it a RPG, my favorite RPG was Angry Birds Epic because it was the only one i played a lot besides The Quest. I've loved Angry Birds and just birds in general since I was in preschool.
