Is this fixable?

Postby SoraMizuki » Sun Oct 05, 2014 3:16 am

So, I was doing Trurm's Buried Treasure quest, and I made the mistake of dropping Thurm's half of the map before talking to Solomon a second time. Dumb move, I know. Is there a way to fix this?

Only if you can find where you dropped the map.

What if it's disappeared?

Well if it has completely disappeared, then it's a bug. I don't think there is anything you can do if it disappeared. Sorry man.

The game resets areas you haven't been to for more than one in game week. Which includes deleting all dropped items, if they are not on permanent shelves. This is not a bug, it is intended to work this way.

If you haven't been to the area where you've dropped the map for more than one week (7 days) in game time, then yes, the item is gone and you have to live with not finishing the quest in question, unless you can get the map again somehow. But I think there are very few quests which make that possible.

The Quest is "old school", so to say. You must be careful and think about the consequences of your actions, because you can fail the quests (and the game) in many ways.

Of course, there is always the "load a previous save" spell, if you make a mistake. ;)

Loading a previous save? You mean like the load game feature? If so, it can't be done. I've saved past that point long ago.

Yes, I meant loading a previously saved game. If you don't have a suitable one, than that's that.

I saw somewhere on the forums that it was possible to fix someone's position by uploading a save file. Is something like that applicable in this situation?

This is not really a bug, as opposed to someone getting stuck. But if it is that important to you, then yes, I can add the item to your character's inventory. Send me a save file (see the first topic in this forum on how to get the file and see the "contact us" link on our homepage for an email address). Just please keep this to this one time, I don't really have time to do these kind of things. ;)

Won't happen again. I was still learning when I started that quest. Thank you :)

We haven't got it. It should work, we get many emails. :)

To be sure, the address is redshift@redshift.hu (I try not to leave our mail addresses around to make it easy to harvest them, that's why I didn't write it first, but we get a lot of spam anyway, this one more will not hurt that much, I hope).
