Kidnapped wife

Hi there. I have an issue with this quest in that I have visited the husband who says "Here take this rum.." But when I return to the kidnapped wife she tells me I don't have what she needs..
Am I missing something or is this a glitch?

I don't think there is a glitch, this is a well tested quest.

It's just not entirely straightforward how to complete it. It's linked with another quest and you must fail one of them to be able to complete the other. See this guide for example: http://linux.redshift.hu/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=808

No. I would have suggested you just start a new character and do the quest again, but I guess you are much further along now. So the best course of action is just to ignore it. You'll be able to get more than enough experience points and treasure.

In the meantime I made some rum but as you rightly said it didn't work. Oh well, I'll leave it as you say. Thanks a lot for your info
