What happened to Elemental Asteroids (iOS)?

I noticed that The Quest Classic - Elemental Asteroids for iOS had been removed from the App Store and was wondering what happened and if it would ever return to the App Store.

Apple removed it.
They said it was a "copy" of an existing app and it must be "modified". No amount of explaining (or trying to change screenshots/icons) budged them. I'm sorry.

That’s unfortunate. However, it seems that if you still have Elemental Asteroids linked to your base The Quest Classic, you may still sail to the expansion.

Unfortunately, I don't own Elemental Asteroids. Hopefully it returns to the App Store, as I prefer the classic aesthetic to HD.

Any updates? Also, if the expansion doesn't make it back to the App Store, I wonder if it can be released for free through an update, since the base game and the Gold Edition already have the necessary data.
