In the editor “item type” screen, there is a large empty panel that says “item text:”, but I cannot type in this panel. Is there a way to add descriptions to items I’m creating? Descriptions will be helpful for the players of my Dungeon Crawl expansion as the description will give hints of how to use the item (e.g., a machete being used to remove large bushes from your path).

Only a few item types (like books) can have text. It's not a description but the text you can see when you read the item.

If you check a potion you can see there is no "item text:" text, only empty space. It was probably just forgotten to be hidden in the other dialogs.

Darn, well add that to my TQ2 wish list. I think it can also help with lore and world building.
