Out of curiosity, around how many copies did The Quest sell?

Companies don't give out details like that involving sales figures usually ;) Several thousand I think on IOS perhaps coming into the 40-60ks
You have 20 save slots use them all. Save after every quest, save before going into a dungeon, save, save save!!

Well, I can't give exact details, but Jamie is close to it. : ) The Quest was out there on the PDA market (palm, pocket pc, etc.) since 2006, I think it sold a few thousand copies, probably more. (That market is dead now.) On the iOS I stopped counting around 50.000, but it was years ago. So it's not a really big hit compared to other, more popular games on the iOS nowadays, but it's a good average one.

Not a bad guess  Yeah IOS really made the game popular but heard it was quite ground breaking on the PDA market as well. And there is still a few people who play on the PC version no idea how many maybe a couple 100 or thousand :?:

Wow that's pretty good for an indie game.

Jamie: yep, I think only a few hundred people are playing this on PC. Never counted that.
The Quest was "groundbreaking" only on the palm/pocket pc market back in 2006, but those were the last years of that market... Legacy was a bigger hit back in 2003. On the iOS, The Quest is just a game among the thousands. Okay, probably the game's complexity and all the hardcore RPG elements are better than the average, but that's all. For a really big hit we should use super colorful shiny full 3D wonder graphics - and of course we should delete many hardcore RPG elements of the game to make it more popular for the masses. : )

Noobpod: I had to split these posts to a new thread because they had nothing to do with the wonderful "why is this site necessary" topic. : )
Hm. Probably we should have an offtopic forum too...

To also make it a big hit you would have to add some exsploding terrorist birds and some helpless pigs.

An off-topic section would probably be a good idea :)

No, the game sells badly on PC but it was never our goal to sell this on PC - it was made for the PDA market with too small screen resolution for a PC.
So I don't think we can boost somehow these sales. I think Elendil tried to put it on some share sites a few years ago, but it didn't help us. Anyway, I'll tell him your suggestion too, thanks. : )
